Spring 2019 Dean's List Announced
A total of 1,520 students have been named to the Dean's List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the Spring 2019 semester of the 2018-2019 academic year, according to Joanne Bruno, J.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs. Students eligible for the Dean's List are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time. The letter grade "B" earns 3 quality points per credit, and the grade "A" earns 4 quality points per credit.

Eisenhower Institute students conduct environmental policy research for the Loxahatchee River Restoration Project in Palm Beach County, Florida
During a discussion about the Loxahatchee River Restoration Project at their April 30 workshop, the Board of Commissioners for Palm Beach County, Florida, referenced a report prepared by Gettysburg College students in the Eisenhower Institute's Environmental Leadership program. Over the course of the year, these 10 students have worked closely with Dr. Howard Ernst, Seiden-Levi Fellow at the Eisenhower Institute, to explore water policy in the United States. After spending the fall semester learning about the policy process and relevant environmental concerns, they traveled to South Florida to conduct field research on restoration plans for the Loxahatchee River. ESU to Graduate 1,187 Students at Three Commencement Exercises
A total of 1,187 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at separate commencement exercises for undergraduate and graduate students on May 10 and May 11. ESU will hold three graduation ceremonies: one for graduate students on Friday, May 10 at 6:45 p.m. and two ceremonies for undergraduate students on Saturday, May 11. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 8:45 a.m. (College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education) and at 1:15 p.m. (College of Business and Management and College of Health Sciences). All three ceremonies will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse. A total of 995 bachelor's degrees, 188 master's degrees and four doctoral degrees will be awarded.

McIlwain and Paula present at 24th annual Women and Gender Studies Conference
Mallorie McIlwain and Yessi Paula presented their choreography at the 24th annual Women and Gender Studies Conference at Cedar Crest College on Saturday, April 13. "Fallen" by Mallorie McIlwain and "Girls in the Hood" by Yessi Paula both depicted powerful women who are swept up in precarious circumstances. Both works originally premiered at Student DanceWorks at Samuels Theater in November 2018.

Terpsichore Dance Society is a dance appreciation club who enjoys watching, supporting, and participating in dance events. We welcome all students from years of technical training to no dance background at all! Bloomsburg University Forensics Team Third at Recent Competition.
The Bloomsburg University Forensics (Speech and Debate) team won the 3rd Place Team Sweepstakes Award out of 12 schools at the CFA/Harold Cox Speech and Debate Tournament held at Wilkes University on Feb. 1-2, 2019. Six out of eight BU students participating in the tournament won speech and debate awards. Bloomsburg competed against St. Joseph's University, George Mason University, Rollins College, Lynchburg University, Shepherd University, Bryn Mawr College, Liberty University, Wilkes University, Misericordia University, Trinity College, and Luzerne County Community College.
